November 4, 2025 - Calls for Election and Notices

2025 CITY OF ROME MUNICIPAL ELECTION INFORMATION

 

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, a nonpartisan municipal election will be held for the purpose of electing three (3) City Commissioners from Ward 2 and seven (7) Rome Board of Education members. All three Commissioners and seven School Board members will serve four-year terms beginning January 2026.

  • Qualifying for the election shall be held at 601 Broad Street, Rome, GA, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on August 18, 2025, and ending at 4:30 p.m. on August 22, 2025. No primary election shall be held.
  • The qualifying fee shall be $360.00 (3% of the annual salary) for Commission candidates, and $180.00 (3% of the annual salary) for Board of Education candidates.
  • All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the election may register through the close of business on October 6, 2025, or on the date prescribed by the Secretary of State.
  • Early voting will be held at the Floyd County Elections Office, located at 18 E 12th St., Rome, GA 30161, during normal business hours. Early voting dates will be October 14–31, 2025. In addition, early voting will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the same location between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Early voting will also take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the same location.
  • Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

All seats shall be elected by a plurality of the consolidated vote of the entire city.

All qualifying candidates will run in the November 4, 2025, General Election.

All candidates must file financial disclosure and campaign contribution reports with the City Clerk according to the rules and regulations of the State Ethics Commission and state law.

The election will be conducted by, and poll officials selected by, the Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration.
