Tire Recycling

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center hosted two Scrap Tire Amnesty Days in October 2024. We served 191 residents and recycled 1,461 tires. Thank you to all who participated.

We will not have another tire event until spring 2026. Please contact the Walker Mountain Landfill or your local tire shop if you need to dispose of tires,

The Tire Amnesty Event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Environmental Protection Division’s (EPD) Local Government Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement (STAR) Program. This grant will reimburse Floyd County for the cost of transporting and processing scrap tires. It is funded from Georgia’s Solid Waste Trust Fund.

If you missed our event and need to dispose of tires, please contact your local tire shop, or the Walker Mountain Landfill.
