P.A.W.S. Waives Adoption Fees in Honor of K-9 Deputy Mike Williams

For February 27, 2026 Release:

In honor of Floyd County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Deputy Mike Williams, P.A.W.S. is waiving all adoption fees for the next 32 days.

He served with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office from 2010 to 2026, bringing 16 years of dedication, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to our community. Those who knew him know he never did anything halfway. He always gave twice as much.

To reflect that same spirit of going above and beyond, we are doubling his years of service and waiving adoption fees for 32 days.

“We decided to waive fees for double Mike’s years of service because that’s the kind of dedication that Mike always brought,” P.A.W.S. Director Katy Walters said.

The hope is that each adoption during this time honors his legacy of service, protection, and unconditional love.

“There is no better way to celebrate his memory than by helping more animals find the loving homes they deserve,” she said.

“Join us in honoring Mike by opening your heart and your home,” she said.

P.A.W.S. can be contacted by phone at (706) 236-4537 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Adoption hours are 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. P.A.W.S. is also open on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
