Floyd County Commission Presents Proclamations Recognizing Community Contributions

The Floyd County Board of Commissioners recognized Michele Parker Cash and John Stevenson for their service to the community and the finance department for a recent recognition by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada which reflects Floyd County’s high standards to comprehensive and open financial reporting.

The family of John Stevenson joined commissioners as they honored his life and legacy. Stevenson was a devoted veteran, community leader, man of faith, and longtime Rome resident whose service left a lasting mark on Floyd County.

Commissioners also recognized Michele Parker Cash, dining room manager at Coosa Country Club, for her exceptional service and professionalism. For nearly 50 years, she has been a cornerstone of fine dining and hospitality in Floyd County, serving members, guests, and the public with distinction and grace.

In other business, commissioners proclaimed March 23–29, 2026, as Agriculture Week and recognized March 24 as National Agriculture Day. Governor Brian Kemp issued a similar proclamation at the state level, encouraging all citizens of Rome and Floyd County to celebrate farmers, agriculturalists, and the vital role they play in supporting families and communities.
