Tyler Stinson Earns National Certification as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is proud to announce that Tyler Stinson has successfully passed the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) examination through the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), earning a nationally recognized credential in the parks and recreation field.

The CPRP certification is considered the national standard for parks and recreation professionals and demonstrates a commitment to excellence, professional development, and service to the community. Individuals who earn this designation have met rigorous education and experience requirements and have demonstrated a strong understanding of key operational and leadership practices within the profession.

The National Recreation and Park Association is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing parks, recreation, and environmental conservation efforts that enhance quality of life for all people. Through advocacy, education, and certification programs like the CPRP, NRPA supports professionals in building healthy, resilient, and connected communities nationwide.

The CPRP examination is a comprehensive, competency-based assessment designed to evaluate the foundational knowledge of parks and recreation professionals. The exam consists of 150 questions and is based on a national job analysis reflecting the real-world responsibilities of the field. It covers five core areas: operations, programming, human resources, finance, and communication. These domains ensure that certified professionals are equipped to manage facilities, develop programs, lead teams, and effectively serve their communities.

By earning the CPRP credential, Stinson joins a distinguished group of professionals committed to advancing the parks and recreation profession and delivering high-quality services that positively impact community well-being. He also joins fellow Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation employees Todd Wofford, John Davis, Lindsey Jones, and Tammy Bryant who have previously earned this certification.

“Achieving the CPRP certification reflects Tyler’s dedication to professional growth and his commitment to providing exceptional service to our community,” said Todd Wofford. “We are proud of this accomplishment that some of our staff have achieved and are excited about the continued leadership they bring to our organization.”
