Status Updates
5.27.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved an increase to the 2023 SPLOST budget by $42,150.00 to account for the remaining amount left over in 2024 to complete the purchases and up-fitting of four police vehicles.
2.25.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved:
- the up-fitting for seven (7) Dodge Durango police pursuit vehicles for the Sheriff's office from Coosa Valley Communications, Inc. in the amount of $53,625.00. This vendor provided the most responsive submission and the lowest price submission. There is no budget adjustment required as this cost is within the amount of savings from the vehicle purchase approved at the last board meeting.
- the up-fitting of four (4) Ford Explorers for the Police department in the amount of $35,320. At the 9.24.2024, Board meeting, the funds for the Police Explorers were approved as "not to exceed $220,000." This amount is still within the limit, however this was not carried over the 2025 budget. This will require a budget increase in the amount of $35,320.
2.11.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of seven (7) 2025 Dodge Durango Pursuit Vehicles from Carville CDJR for the Sheriff's Office for a total amount of $274,020. This vendor supplied a responsive and responsible bid with the lowest pricing. This purchase is $55,985.00 under budget.
1.14.2025 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase and installation of a commercial Unimac Washer & Dryer to Southeastern Laundry Equipment Sales for P.A.W.S. in the amount of $29,855. Although this was not the lowest bid submitted, this vendor supplied a responsive and responsible bid with the quickest delivery.
9.24.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase and up-fitting of four (4) Police Pursuit Ford Explorer or Equal vehicles from Family Ford, Inc. dba Hardy Family Ford for the Floyd County Police Department not to exceed $220,000. This vendor submitted a responsive bid with the lowest pricing.
